Jakbar Water Resources Sub-District Agency Completes Drainage Repairs to Address Flooding in Tambora RW 03

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-District Agency (Sudin SDA) has completed repairs to a drainage channel in Jalan Tambora Gang 8, RW 03 Tambora. The repairs were carried out on both sides of the channel, spanning 25 metres in the areas of RT 02 and RT 03 RW 03 Tambora, to address the frequent flooding in the locality. “The repairs began on 30 March 2026 and have now been completed,” said Rohilim, the Field Coordinator of the Water Resources Executive Unit (Satpel) for Tambora Sub-District, when contacted in Jakarta on Wednesday. He explained that the repairs involved deploying 11 task force members. “The repairs were proposed because water often overflows and floods during rain,” he stated. In addition to repairing the retaining walls using the formwork method, the work also included covering the channel with precast concrete. Although the initial work is now complete, Rohilim revealed that residents have requested additional repairs to the channel spanning about 35 metres. This follows the connection of the channel on one side to previous work at the old site on Jalan Tambora Gang 8, RT 02/03 Tambora. “The initial site is completed and only requires tidying up. But for the extension, work is planned to begin in the next one or two days,” he concluded.
