Jakarta's Satpol PP confiscates 300 bottles of illegal alcoholic beverages
Jakarta — The Jakarta Provincial Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP DKI Jakarta) seized 300 bottles of alcoholic beverages of various brands lacking distribution permits in an operation against illegal alcohol circulation on Thursday (5 March). ‘Alcoholic beverages without distribution permits were seized by officers to be used as evidence,’ said Rahmat Efendi, Head of the Enforcement of Local Regulations (Perda) and Perkada Division, in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday. The hundreds of illegal alcoholic bottles were secured from several locations on Jalan Kemuning Raya, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. They were subsequently taken to the Satpol PP Monas Post. Rahmat said Satpol PP will continue to conduct periodic monitoring to ensure business operators comply with the applicable rules. This routine enforcement activity is part of Satpol PP’s efforts to monitor the distribution of alcohol sold without licences in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations. Satpol PP, he added, also provides guidance to business operators to prevent them from selling alcohol without a licence again. ‘We urge business operators to comply with licensing requirements and not to sell alcoholic beverages illegally. Satpol PP will continue to monitor and take action if similar violations are found,’ Rahmat said.
