Jakarta's PPAPP says RPTRA must support human resource development
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Agency for Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) has stressed that the capital’s Child-Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA) must support human resource development through various programmes and collaborations. “For this reason, various activities at RPTRA, which serve as a laboratory for the Family Empowerment and Welfare (PKK) programme, must be maximised,” said Head of the DKI Jakarta PPAPP Agency Dwi Oktarina during an online seminar on Strengthening Integrated Farmer Group Capacity at RPTRA, monitored in Jakarta on Wednesday. She said the ten main PKK programmes can be integrated with other initiatives, including child protection, community empowerment, and public health improvement. Furthermore, family health improvement programmes, potential development, and even business potential and other activities can be implemented with strong integration of farmer groups. “Let us continue to develop RPTRA, which is a source of pride for us in DKI Jakarta,” Dwi said. RPTRA is an open green public area with indoor and outdoor facilities serving as a centre for community activities to support Jakarta as a Child-Friendly City. The number of RPTRA in Jakarta initially started with five pilot sites and has now grown to 324 across 44 sub-districts and 173 urban villages. This figure has already surpassed the initial target of 267. Of the total RPTRA, 253 were built using the Regional Budget (APBD) and 71 were built using Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government aims for the number of RPTRA to continue growing and be well maintained so that they become a source of pride for Jakarta residents.
