The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Jakarta Province records that the population of the capital, based on the 2025 Inter-Census Population Survey (SUPAS), reaches 10.724 million people. This figure represents an increase of 162,240 people compared to the 2020 Population Census and an increase of 1.116 million people compared to the 2010 Population Census.

The Head of BPS Jakarta Province, Kadarmanto, stated that Jakarta’s population growth rate (LPP) was recorded at 0.92 percent during the 2010–2020 period and has slowed to 0.32 percent during the 2020–2025 period. This data indicates a slowdown in the population growth rate in Jakarta in recent years.

“Jakarta’s population is still growing, but it is experiencing a slowdown compared to previous periods,” he said in his statement, quoted by Republika on Wednesday (6/5/2026).

Kadarmanto explained that of the total population, the millennial generation is the highest in Jakarta, reaching 24.82 percent. In second place, Generation Z (Gen Z) is also high in percentage terms, at 24.12 percent. This means that the percentage of millennial and Gen Z populations in Jakarta reaches 48.94 percent.
