Jakarta's parking
Jakarta's parking problem continues
From Warta Kota
The voucher system applied to on-street parking in Jakarta lately has failed. According to reports, a deficit of more than Rp 240 million has been incurred in the last two months and the salaries for parking officers remain uncertain.
In my observation, the Jakarta provincial administration has never considered the matter in a thorough and integrated manner, while the mentality of its executing agency should be doubted. Jakarta's parking service revenue has always failed to reach its annual target worth tens of billions of rupiah, while the potential for this income is really great.
The parking officers in charge apparently are not well prepared to use their equipment, thus creating confusion in providing their service. If this continues unsettled, what happens will only be a waste of funds.
I agree with the idea of making a proper audit of the Jakarta Parking Management Agency, which cooperates with PT Adiwara Sembada as its operating partner, and selecting partner firms tightly to ensure public orientation. On the whole, the Jakarta administration should work more professionally next time.
