A total of 2,179 educational units in DKI Jakarta Province are using SCALA by Metranet as a digital solutions provider to deliver an online new student admissions system (SPMB) designed to support institutions in managing the entire admissions process end-to-end. Metranet Business Director Faisal Yusuf stated that digital transformation in the education sector must be supported by solutions that not only simplify administrative processes but also improve overall service quality. “The use of technology in the student admissions process is no longer an additional need, but an essential foundation for delivering services that are more transparent, accountable, and efficient,” Faisal said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday. According to him, the 2,179 educational units, comprising primary, junior secondary, senior secondary, and vocational schools in DKI Jakarta Province, have adopted the system. Faisal noted that the success of digitalising education services is determined not only by the technology itself but also by the system’s ability to support operational needs on the ground. For this reason, the company also provides implementation support services backed by 24/7 technical assistance to ensure the admissions process runs optimally according to the needs of each region and educational institution. With an integrated approach, the online SPMB is designed to minimise operational obstacles, accelerate data management processes, and enhance information transparency for prospective students and parents. “The presence of a more structured system can also strengthen public trust in the ongoing selection process,” he said. He added that since 2024, SCALA by Metranet’s online SPMB solution has been implemented in 147 educational agencies, encompassing more than 5,000 schools across 15 provinces and 30 regencies/cities in Indonesia.
