Jakarta's Odd-Even Vehicle Scheme Suspended During Eid Holiday 2026
Jakarta’s Metropolitan Police Chief Irjen Asep Edi Suheri has confirmed that the Odd-Even vehicle scheme (Gage) in Jakarta will be suspended during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period from 18 to 25 March 2026.
“During the holiday, the odd-even scheme will not apply. From 18 to 25 [March, it will be suspended],” Asep Edi Suheri stated whilst inspecting the exodus traffic at Pulo Gebang Terminal, East Jakarta, on Saturday (14 March).
The Metropolitan Police Chief also announced that the force has mobilised thousands of personnel to secure the mass exodus and Eid al-Fitr celebrations across the Metro Jaya Police jurisdiction.
“The security plan from the Metro Jaya Police covers 1,647 security locations throughout the region,” he told journalists at Pulo Gebang Terminal.
He explained that these locations comprise 95 security posts, including 68 security observation posts (pospam), 22 service posts, and 5 integrated posts. Additionally, nine monitoring posts have been deployed along the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to monitor traffic flow.
Security efforts are also concentrated on 83 economic centres and 11 transportation hubs, comprising four terminals, four train stations, two airports, and one port.
For the evening of Takbiran prayers and Eid al-Fitr celebrations, police have allocated security at 13 Takbiran locations and 133 sites for Eid prayers and charity distribution.
Tourist attractions are also under security focus, with 68 tourist sites being monitored, including Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Taman Margasatwa Ragunan, and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, as well as tourist areas in Bekasi, Depok, and the Thousand Islands.
In total, 6,812 personnel have been deployed for this operation. This comprises 5,092 personnel from the Indonesian National Police (Polri), 416 military personnel from the Jaya Military Command (Kodam Jaya) and district military commands (Kodim), 1,088 personnel from local government and related agencies, and 216 personnel from community organisations.
