Jakarta's Odd-Even Vehicle Restriction Suspended on 1 May 2026, All Vehicles Free to Pass

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has confirmed that the odd-even traffic restriction policy will not be implemented on Thursday, 1 May 2026. Quoted from the official Instagram account @dishubdkijakarta, the date coincides with Labour Day or May Day, designated as a national holiday. “The odd-even system does not apply on 1 May. All vehicles may pass as usual,” states the @dishubdkijakarta account. This suspension of the odd-even policy refers to the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religious Affairs, Minister of Manpower, and Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1497 of 2025, Number 2 of 2025, and Number 5 of 2025 on National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2026. Additionally, this policy also refers to the Governor of DKI Jakarta Regulation Number 88 of 2019, specifically Article 3 paragraph (3), which states that the odd-even system does not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays designated by Presidential Decree. With this decision, vehicles with odd or even licence plates may still pass through roads that normally implement restrictions without exception on that date. The DKI Provincial Government continues to urge the public to maintain order and pay attention to traffic conditions even though there is no odd-even restriction on the holiday.
