JAKARTA – The odd-even vehicle restriction system in Jakarta is confirmed not to apply on Friday, 1 May 2026. This policy is waived to coincide with the national holiday for Labour Day, allowing all vehicles to pass freely without regard to licence plate numbers. This decision was conveyed by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency as an adjustment to the policy during national holidays. “In connection with National Labour Day on 1 May 2026, the odd-even provisions on various roads in Jakarta are WAIVED,” states the official statement from the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, quoted on Thursday (30 April 2026). The temporary suspension of this rule also refers to DKI Jakarta Governor’s Regulation No. 88 of 2019, Article 3 Paragraph 3, which states that traffic restrictions do not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. For information, there are 25 main roads that are daily included in the odd-even zone. Among them are Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan Gatot Subroto, to Jalan HR Rasuna Said. On that day, all these roads can be traversed without restrictions. With the odd-even suspension on Labour Day, the public is expected to continue driving orderly to keep traffic flowing smoothly despite the lack of restrictions.
