Jakarta's Odd-Even Traffic System Only in Effect for Three Days This Week – Check Schedule
Jakarta, KOMPAS.com - Jakarta’s odd-even traffic system will only be in effect for three days this week after the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government suspended the policy during the national holiday and Eid al-Adha shared leave on 1447 Hijriah. The Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub) confirmed the odd-even rule will not apply on Wednesday and Thursday, 27-28 May 2026. The announcement was made via Dishub DKI Jakarta’s official Instagram account on Friday (22 May 2026). “Due to the Eid al-Adha national holiday and shared leave on 27-28 May 2026, the odd-even system will not be enforced on Jakarta’s roadways,” said Dishub DKI Jakarta in a post. During the suspension, all vehicles, regardless of license plate numbers, will be permitted on roads that typically enforce traffic restrictions. The agency stated the decision follows Joint Ministerial Decrees from the Ministries of Religion, Manpower, and Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Numbers 1497/2025, 2/2025, and 5/2025) concerning the 2026 National and Shared Holiday Schedule. Additionally, the suspension refers to Jakarta Governor Regulation No. 88 of 2019, Article 3, Paragraph 3. The regulation states that the odd-even system does not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, and government-designated national holidays. “Traffic restrictions under the odd-even system are not enforced on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays as determined by Presidential Decree,” the regulation states. Despite the temporary suspension, Dishub DKI Jakarta urged motorists to prioritise road safety during the extended Eid al-Adha holiday period. Road users were also advised to comply with traffic signs and anticipate potential congestion at certain points.
