JAKARTA - The implementation of Jakarta’s odd-even system today, Friday (15/5/2026), has been officially suspended in line with the joint leave for Ascension Day of Jesus Christ. This policy allows all vehicles to pass through Jakarta’s roads without restrictions based on odd or even number plates. The suspension of the odd-even system was announced by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency via its official Instagram account (@dishubdkijakarta), stating that the suspension applies during the national holiday and joint leave period. The DKI Transportation Agency emphasises that the suspension of Jakarta’s odd-even system applies for two days, namely 14 to 15 May 2026, coinciding with the series of holidays and joint leave for Ascension Day of Jesus Christ. The suspension of this policy refers to several regulations, namely the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) of three ministers on National Holidays and Joint Leave for 2026, as well as DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 88 of 2019, Article 3 paragraph (3). The regulation explains that the odd-even system is not implemented on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays designated by the government. Although the restrictions are suspended, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency still urges the public to comply with traffic rules and prioritise safety during the long holiday period.
