Jakarta's Odd-Even Scheme Only Applies for 4 Days This Week: Check the Schedule
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The odd-even traffic restriction policy in Jakarta will only apply for four days this week, as it is not implemented on Labour Day, Friday (1/5/2026). The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has ensured that the traffic limitation will not be enforced on the national holiday. Through the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, the Provincial Government stated that the suspension of the odd-even scheme refers to the official government holiday calendar. “The odd-even scheme does not apply on 1 May. All vehicles can pass as usual,” wrote the official DKI Dishub account. This policy refers to the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) of three ministers on National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2026, which designates 1 May as a national holiday in commemoration of International Labour Day. Additionally, this regulation is in line with DKI Jakarta Governor’s Regulation No. 88 of 2019. Article 3 paragraph (3) states that the odd-even system does not apply on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays designated by the government. Therefore, vehicles with odd or even number plates can still pass through all road sections usually affected by the policy on 1 May without restrictions.
