Jakarta's Mobile Vet Clinic Serves 128 Animals in First Week

The East Jakarta Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture Agency (Sudin KPKP Jaktim) has reported that the city’s mobile veterinary clinic served 128 pets during its first week of operation. The head of the agency’s Livestock and Animal Health Section, Theresia Ellita, stated on Tuesday that the service had catered to 106 residents. On the first day, Monday, 13 July, the mobile clinic treated 14 animals belonging to 14 residents, comprising two dogs and 12 cats. The following day, 16 animals from 14 residents were examined, including five dogs and 11 cats. On 15-16 July, the clinic operated at the Pondok Bambu Urban Village office, where 48 animals from 40 residents were treated, consisting of four dogs and 44 cats. On 17 July, at the Penggilingan Urban Village office, 33 animals from 25 residents received care, including five dogs and 28 cats. This service is part of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to make it easier for the public to maintain the health and welfare of their pets. Ellita expressed hope that residents would utilise the service to keep their pets healthy and prevent the potential spread of disease. The mobile clinic will continue to operate in East Jakarta on 21-22 July at RPTRA Kebon Pala, Kebon Pala Urban Village, Makasar, and on 23-24 July at RPTRA Garuda, Cilangkap, Cipayung. Services run from 08:30 to 14:30 WIB. According to the tariff board, animal health services at the Animal Health and Livestock Service Centre are governed by Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2024 on Local Taxes and Regional Levies. Outpatient health checks for animals are charged at Rp35,000. Examination and treatment for cats costs Rp70,000, while for dogs it is Rp100,000. The same rate of Rp100,000 applies to the examination and treatment of goats and cattle. For surgical procedures, minor operations are charged at Rp175,000. Sterilisation services, which include examination, laboratory, and procedure costs, are set at Rp400,000 for cats and Rp700,000 for dogs. Additionally, electromedical services such as ultrasonography (USG) cost Rp200,000. For diagnostic laboratory services, blood tests or haematology are charged at Rp100,000 per sample per test type, while blood biochemistry tests cost Rp75,000 per sample per test type.
