Jakarta’s Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs (PPKUKM)Department through its Metrology Management Unit is ready to support the implementation of calibration and re calibration services for public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) in Jakarta.

” The Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs Department is committed to providing adaptive, modern, and responsive legal metrology services. The implementation of SPKLU calibration is a key step in ensuring measurement accuracy and supporting the sustainable development of Jakarta’s EV ecosystem,” said Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, head of the Jakarta PPKUKM Department, on Tuesday.

She added that the introduction of SPKLU calibration services reflects the adaptation of legal metrology to technological advancements and modern societal needs.

“Transitioning to an EV ecosystem must be accompanied by consumer protection guarantees. through SPKLU calibration and re calibration services, we aim to ensure accurate, transparent, and trusted measurements, thereby strengthening public confidence in electric vehicles,” Ratu stated.

Previously, on Monday (25 May), Trade Minister Budi Santoso officially launched type approval and calibration services for EV charging equipment as part of World Metrology Day 2026 celebrations.

B emphasised that SPKLU calibration is crucial to ensuring consumers receive the correct amount of electricity they pay for.

” when using SPKLU to charge vehicles, we must ensure what consumers receive matches what they pay for,” he said.

The government also targets testing or re calibration of thousands of SPKLU across Indonesia as part of strengthening the national legal metrology system. This comes amid increasing SPKLU numbers due to growing EV adoption.

By enhancing oversight and measurement on SPKLU, the government hopes to boost public confidence in using electric vehicles as part of the clean energy transition.

In addition to consumer protection, SPKLU calibration implementation supports the establishment of fair and regulated trade in Indonesia.
