Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has assured Jakarta residents that food supplies in the capital remain secure during Ramadhan despite escalating conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran.

Pramono acknowledged that war in the Middle East could potentially pressure the global economy, including supply chains and commodity prices. Nevertheless, he assured that the availability of basic necessities in Jakarta remains safe and sufficient.

He noted that meat supply issues, which frequently emerge during Ramadhan, are not currently problematic. “Praise be to God, meat stocks are now secure and as we monitor, we see prices in major Jakarta markets have not yet increased,” he stated.

Pramono expressed hope that basic necessities will not experience significant price increases ahead of Eid al-Fitr. He also hoped that inflationary pressure from global circumstances would not be excessive and assured he would continue monitoring developments.

The governor asked Jakarta residents not to worry about the availability of staple goods during Ramadhan. He pledged continued oversight to maintain price stability amid global tensions.
