Jakarta's Exports in March 2026 Reach 1.63 Billion USD
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of DKI Jakarta recorded that the total value of Jakarta’s exports in March 2026 reached 1.63 billion USD, achieving solid growth of 17.28% year-on-year compared to the same period in the previous year.
“The growth in export performance was mainly driven by increases in the value of exports in the oil and gas and non-oil and gas sectors, by 178.99% and 16.89% respectively,” said the Head of BPS DKI Jakarta, Kadarmanto, in Jakarta on Monday.
He explained that the total export value by sector in March was spurred by the performance of the processing industry. This sector not only serves as the largest contributor to the market share in Jakarta’s export structure but also forms the backbone of this growth.
Specifically, the export value in the processing industry experienced a year-on-year increase of 19.21% in March 2026, with the value rising significantly from 1.3 billion USD in March 2025 to 1.59 billion USD in March 2026.
“This demonstrates the strength of Jakarta’s manufacturing-based economic fundamentals,” said Kadarmanto.
Cumulatively, for the first quarter of 2026, the total value of Jakarta’s exports reached 4.52 billion USD, growing positively by 4.90% compared to the same period in 2025.
By sector, Jakarta’s export structure remains heavily reliant on the processing industry, which holds absolute control with a cumulative share of 97.73%.
“In terms of value, the processing industry grew by 6.65% compared to January through March 2025,” stated Kadarmanto.
Meanwhile, a different situation is evident in the agriculture sector as well as mining and other sectors, which experienced sharp contractions of 51.81% and 84.84% respectively.
