Jakarta's export value reaches US$9.87 billion from January to July 2026

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for DKI Jakarta has reported that Jakarta’s cumulative export value from January to July 2026 reached US$9.87 billion (US$9,877.47 million), representing a 0.85 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

“For oil and gas, the value was recorded at US$44.48 million, an increase of 135.59 per cent. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas export value was recorded at US$9,832.99 million, or an increase of 0.59 per cent,” said the Head of BPS DKI Jakarta, Kadarmanto, in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to him, the cumulative increase in non-oil and gas export value occurred in the manufacturing industry sector, which also served as the main driver for export performance throughout January-July 2t026, contributing 97.83 per cent to total exports.

“The manufacturing sector exports that saw significant increases include vehicles and their parts, machinery and electrical equipment, as well as fish, crustaceans, and molluscs,” said Kadarmanto.

In total, vehicles and parts, footwear, and precious metals and jewellery or gemstones accounted for an export share of 51.56 per cent of Jakarta’s total exports from January to July 2026.

Regarding vehicles and parts, there was a cumulative increase of 12.31 per cent, whereas two other commodities, namely footwear and precious metals and jewellery, experienced a decline.

Meanwhile, based on primary export destinations, the top three countries for Jakarta’s exports were Thailand, the United States, and China.

Together, these three countries accounted for a 35.97 per cent share of Jakarta’s total exports from January to July 2026.

Exports to Thailand were recorded at US$1,363.52 million, dominated by precious metals and jewellery or gemstones with a 73.53 per cent share, growing by 140.52 per cent cumulatively.

Exports to the United States were recorded at US$1,188.29 million, dominated by footwear with a 49.68 per cent share, though this saw a cumulative decrease of 4.18 per cent.

Exports to China were recorded at US$995.78 million, dominated by animal or vegetable fats and oils with a 27.39 per cent share, experiencing a growth of 2.26 per cent.
