Bank Indonesia’s Jakarta Representative Office economist Sakti Arif Wicaksono stated that the capital’s economic growth is projected in the range of 4.9 to 5.7 percent, with inflation remaining under control in 2026, which could attract both domestic and foreign investment. “Jakarta’s macroeconomic developments can be one of the potential factors for how domestic and foreign investment can continue in 2026 and 2027,” Sakti said in Jakarta on Tuesday. He noted that the capital’s economic growth is supported by strong household consumption and several leading sectors that are still growing quite rapidly, such as trade, information and communication, and accommodation and food service provision. Furthermore, investment in Jakarta grew relatively high in the first quarter of 2026. Realised investment reached Rp78.7 trillion, or 15.8 percent of Indonesia’s total investment. This achievement positions Jakarta as the largest investment contributor nationally, serving as a positive indicator for regional economic growth. He stated that Foreign Direct Investment reached 1.9 billion US dollars in the first quarter of 2026, while Domestic Direct Investment amounted to Rp26.3 trillion. Meanwhile, the Jakarta Provincial Government is offering a total potential investment of approximately 16.1 billion US dollars, equivalent to Rp271.3 trillion, for 40 strategic projects across nine sectors and seven thematic area developments through the Jakarta Investment Forum 2026. This year’s forum carries the theme “Advancing Today, Securing Tomorrow”. As in previous years, the forum brings together various policymakers, including government bodies, business players, innovators, and local and global investors.
