Jakarta's Car Free Day Continues During Ramadhan, Final Session Today

JAKARTA – The Jakarta Provincial Government proceeded with its car free day (CFD) programme across several major road sections on Sunday (15 March 2026). The activity ran from 06:00 to 10:00 Western Indonesian Time.

According to a post by the Jakarta Transportation Office, today’s CFD marks the final session during the month of Ramadhan. Next week, specifically 22 March 2026, the programme will be cancelled as it coincides with Eid al-Fitr.

During the activity, roads designated for CFD are temporarily closed to motor vehicles. Residents utilise these areas to exercise, take leisurely walks, and enjoy the morning atmosphere free from pollution and traffic noise.

Beyond the provincial level, CFD is also organised across various city administrative regions on different schedules. The breakdown is as follows:

Sudirman Road – MH Thamrin Road: Every Sunday, 06:00–10:00 WIB

South Jakarta:

Sultan Iskandar Muda Road (Pondok Indah Arterial): Third Sunday of each month, 06:00–10:00 WIB

West Jakarta:

CNI Area–Kembangan Road: Second Sunday of each month, 06:00–10:00 WIB

Central Jakarta:

Suryopranoto Road: Second and third Sundays of each month, 06:00–10:00 WIB

North Jakarta:

Sunter Lake Area: Third Sunday of each month, 06:00–10:00 WIB

East Jakarta:

Pemuda Rawamangun Road: Second and fourth Sundays of each month, 06:00–10:00 WIB

Additional locations include areas around Bundaran HI such as Imam Bonjol Road, Teluk Betung Road, BNI 46 Building, and the Monas area on Thamrin IRTI and Sarinah Building.
