Jakarta's Baznas Reminds Public That Removing Tattoos Is Harder Than Getting Them
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Zakat Agency (Baznas/Bazis) of DKI Jakarta Province has reminded the public that removing tattoos is far more difficult than getting them.
Accordingly, Deputy Chairman IV for Human Resources at Baznas (Bazis) DKI Jakarta, Prof. Bunyamin, urged the public, particularly young people, not to be easily tempted into getting tattoos.
“One should think very carefully, and it is best not to get a tattoo because removing it is much harder than having it done,” Bunyamin said when met at Sunda Kelapa Mosque in Central Jakarta on Tuesday.
During this year’s Ramadan, Baznas/Bazis DKI Jakarta has once again opened its free tattoo removal service for individuals wishing to undertake a spiritual transformation, available across various areas of Jakarta.
The service is available at Sunda Kelapa Grand Mosque in Central Jakarta on 23-24 February 2026, and at the Assahara Mosque Hall at the West Jakarta Mayor’s Office on 24 February 2026.
It will also be offered at the Dirgantara Room, Block B/C, 2nd Floor of the South Jakarta Mayor’s Office on 26 February 2026, and at the Multipurpose Hall, Block C of the East Jakarta Mayor’s Office on 3 March 2026.
Registration is open from 23 February to 4 March 2026 online via baznasbazisdki.id/daftarhapustato, with a target of 1,000 participants.
Prospective participants must complete the registration form accurately, attaching a photocopy of their identity card and a photograph of the tattoo they wish to have removed.
They will subsequently be added to a WhatsApp group for the Tattoo Removal Service in their respective area and must re-register at the event location.
The service is open to members of the public holding a DKI Jakarta identity card and residing in the Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) area.
“This is now the fourth year. More than 2,000 people have had their tattoos removed over the years. Every time the programme is held, participation is very high,” Bunyamin said.
