Jakarta's air heavily polluted

Jakarta's air heavily polluted

From Kompas

Jakarta's air pollution is rated third after Mexico and
Bangkok (Kompas, June 7, 1996). Both carbon monoxide and plumbum
gases are hazardous to one's health, especially after one has
been exposed to them over a long period of time. This was
admitted by Minister of Environment Sarwono Kusumaatmadja in a
TVRI news broadcast some time ago. The major cause of pollution
is motorized vehicles.

In fact, if we use natural gas instead of gasoline, the
problem of air pollution could be solved. Our country is in fact
very rich in natural gas. Why don't we use it? I think there
should be close cooperation between the minister of environment,
the minister of industry and Pertamina in seeking a solution to
the problem of air pollution.
