Jakarta yesterday: SJUT cable arrangement and 'water mist' operations

Jakarta (ANTARA) – A number of important and noteworthy events coloured Jakarta on Monday (7/9), ranging from the arrangement of Integrated Utility Network (SJUT) cables along Jalan Gatot Subroto to Cawang, to the operation of water mist spraying and watering in various areas to reduce the spread of volcanic ash caused by the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

Pramono: SJUT cable arrangement to begin along Jalan Gatot Subroto

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said the arrangement of Integrated Utility Network (SJUT) cables will begin along Jalan Gatot Subroto through to Cawang.

“As for the electrical cables, I have in fact already scheduled to start with those on Jalan Gatot Subroto all the way to Cawang and so on. There is indeed a target that we will announce specifically later,” said Pramono at City Hall on Monday.

DKI Governor to decide new Ragunan ticket price soon

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said he will soon decide the new ticket price for Ragunan Wildlife Park in the near future.

“So the Ragunan ticket will soon be decided by me; it has not been decided yet. But there is a proposal of Rp10,000, and it will be decided shortly,” explained Pramono at City Hall on Monday.

Pramono urges mask traders not to hoard or manipulate prices

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo asked mask traders not to manipulate prices or engage in hoarding amid the situation of volcanic ash dispersal from Mount Anak Krakatau.

“This is a public need, a shared need. Do not play games with it,” said Pramono when met at Jakarta City Hall on Monday.

Joint personnel conduct ‘water mist’ spraying in Kota Tua

The West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-Department (Gulkarmat), together with the Kota Tua Area Management Unit (UPK) and Tamansari Sub-district, carried out ‘water mist’ spraying in the Kota Tua area on Monday.

The spraying was conducted at several points such as Jalan Kopi, Kota Intan Bridge, Kota Intan Park and Jalan Kunir Raya, as a mitigation measure against volcanic ash resulting from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

DKI says ‘water mist’ operation reduces volcanic ash spread

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government stated that the water mist and watering operations in various areas show indications of improvement in particulate dispersion, including PM10, one source of which is volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

Monitoring on 6–7 September 2026 showed that the high PM10 dispersion, which had previously been quite widespread across Central, East and South Jakarta, became more limited following the watering operations.
