Jakarta yesterday: 'Sapa UMKM' platform to LPDP phase II scholarships

The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has established the Sapa UMKM platform as the primary foundation for fostering and developing partnerships between micro-enterprises and large corporations. Assistant Deputy for Micro-Enterprise Partnerships and Supply Chains at the Ministry of MSMEs, Pristiyanto, stated that the platform was built to collect data on MSME actors so that the government can provide mentoring programmes tailored to the specific needs of each business.

In a separate development, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta recorded that the number of train passengers during the school holiday period from 20 June to 5 July 2026 reached 1.16 million people. KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager, Franoto Wibowo, noted that during this period, 577,789 passengers departed and 584,232 passengers arrived at various stations within the Daop 1 Jakarta area.

The government, through the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), has reopened registration for the Phase II LPDP Scholarships for 2026, offering at least 10 scholarship programmes. Head of the LPDP Communication Sub-Division, Risqi Sita Novanti, said that the second phase of registration has been open since 30 June and is intended for members of the public wishing to continue their education through various funding schemes provided by the government.

In a related move, LPDP has simplified the selection requirements for the Phase II scholarships by easing the English language proficiency requirements to broaden public access to the programme. The Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance has also refined the provisions regarding Final Income Tax for MSMEs by clarifying the criteria for recipients to ensure that tax incentives are better targeted.
