Jakarta wins Students Games

PALEMBANG, South Sumatra (JP): Jakarta topped the medal
standing after romping home 34 golds, 19 silvers and 24 bronzes
at the Sixth Students Games here, which was officially closed by
Governor Rosihan Arsyad on Friday.

Host South Sumatra finished sixth with six golds, eight
silvers and 15 bronzes.

The soccer final, seeing North Sumatra defeating the host 1-0,
preceded the closing ceremony of the weeklong games.

The games featured 12 sports with some 2,500 athletes and
officials from 27 provinces. Some 132 golds, 134 silvers and 162
bronzes were at stake at the event. (33)
