Jakarta West Hotel a Drug Den for 12 Years, Bareskrim Arrests 14 Suspects
Bareskrim Polri has uncovered the distribution of illicit narcotics that had been operating for 12 years at two hotels in the West Jakarta (Jakbar) area.
Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, stated that the revelation began when his team received information about narcotics distribution at a nightlife venue that had been ongoing for years.
Armed with this information, a joint team led by Deputy Head of Subdirectorate IV, Commissioner Handik Zusen, and Head of NIC Task Force, Commissioner Kevin Leleury, conducted an undercover operation to purchase ecstasy and etomidate vapes through a ladies’ coordinator with the initials DEP alias Mami Dania alias Tania.
“On Saturday (9/5) at 00:15 WIB, the joint team arrested Mami Dania with evidence of 5 ecstasy pills and 6 vapes containing etomidate,” he said in a written statement on Thursday (14/5).
Eko said Mami Dania admitted to obtaining the drugs from an MC with the initials TRE alias Dervin.
Subsequently, officers searched room B-02 at B Fashion Hotel and secured 5 guests, finding 10 ecstasy pills and 4 etomidate vapes.
The officers then searched other rooms and found etomidate vapes from an individual with the initials ET. He admitted receiving the vapes from an unnamed hotel waiter.
In that instance, Eko mentioned that they also arrested TRE alias Devin, who is suspected of supplying drugs to Mami Dania. From the examination of TRE, he admitted obtaining the goods from Siti Dahlia alias Vonny.
The police then moved to arrest Vonny along with her husband with the initials CDR in the Kemayoran area.
From police questioning, Vonny admitted to instructing her husband and Yance—who has now been declared a fugitive—to collect narcotics from a figure alias Rais in Kampung Bahari, North Jakarta (Jakut).
Meanwhile, at B Fashion Hotel, an individual with the initials AFH admitted receiving drugs from Irwansyah alias Jeje, who is currently imprisoned at Cipinang Penitentiary.
Eko explained that from the examination results, the transactions between AFH and Irwansyah reached 100 etomidate vapes.
Subsequently, officers arrested Esgianto alias Anto, who acted as a courier for Irwansyah’s vape network. He stated that 100 etomidate vapes branded Yakuza were found in the suspect’s possession.
14 suspects
In this case, Eko stated that investigators have designated a total of 14 suspects.
The details are: Mami Dania as the drug supplier and liaison between dealers and guests at B Fashion Hotel.
Then AFH, RB, DM, WL, and ET as hotel guests. TRD alias Dervin as an MC employee at B Fashion and drug dealer at the hotel.
Next, Siti Dahlia alias Vonny as a drug supplier at the hotel, Canggi Dani Riyanto and Esgianto alias Anto as drug couriers. In addition, Irwansyah alias Jeje as a drug supplier and liaison for AFH and Faisal.
Faisal as a drug supplier and liaison between Irwansyah and Yudith Eric alias Paijo. Finally, Yudith Eric alias Paijo as a drug supplier, liaison between Faisal and SAM.
Brigadier General Eko added that in this case, they have also designated three wanted persons (DPO), namely Yance as a drug courier, Rais as a drug supplier in Kampung Bahari, and Sam as a drug supplier at Pekanbaru Class II Penitentiary.
During its operation, he estimated that approximately 328,500 to 657,000 ecstasy pills had been sold, valued at Rp 328.5 billion to Rp 675 billion. As well as 21,900 to 54,750 units of etomidate vapes worth Rp 65.7 billion to Rp 164 billion.
“Estimated statistics conversion against the narcotic evidence that has been distributed at B Fashion over 12 years,” he said.
