Jakarta West City Government States Karaoke Visitor in West Jakarta Arrested in Drug Case

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta West City Government stated that police apprehended visitors to the B-Fashion Karaoke located in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, in a drug case on Friday (8/5).

The Head of the Tourism Industry Section of the West Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-Department (Parekraf), Gun Gun Mujiantara, confirmed the raid.

“Yes, it’s true there was a raid. But the management side assures that the items (drugs) were not from the management at all, there was no involvement there. So it was from guests from outside,” said Gun Gun when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon.

Gun Gun said his side was quite surprised by the raid because he had not received any information about it.

On Friday (8/5), he admitted to passing by the road in front of the karaoke venue and seeing the management celebrating the entertainment spot’s birthday.

“I was also shocked because on Friday (8/5) I passed by in front of B-Fashion, they were celebrating a birthday. I passed by, didn’t stop. That’s why I was shocked earlier when I got the info about the raid,” said Gun Gun.

Gun Gun confirmed that the arrest location has been cordoned off by police tape. His side will immediately visit the entertainment venue on Tuesday afternoon.

“I’m going there now, but we’ll finish the CRM (Quick Community Response) report first. To make sure, I’ll try to conduct a BAP (Examination Report) later there. This afternoon I’ll come to the place,” Gun Gun emphasised.

As of this report, the police have not provided further details regarding the raid.
