Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will hold the launch of Jakarta’s 499th anniversary towards five centuries on 9–10 May 2026 in the H.R. Rasuna Said Street corridor, Setiabudi, South Jakarta.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the location was chosen because the Rasuna Said corridor has been deemed an icon of Jakarta’s transformation as a global city.
“This marks that Rasuna Said will later be prepared to become a Car Free Day area like Sudirman-Thamrin, so that Jakarta residents have more options, including at the appropriate time I will announce changes to the Car Free Day hours and hopefully Jakarta residents will become healthier,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung expressed disappointment that the Persija versus Persib match was cancelled at the Main Stadium Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) on Sunday (10/5) due to an activity by a community organisation at Istora Senayan.
“I have already stated that I am disappointed, certainly disappointed. Personally, I am disappointed because I hoped the match could be held in Jakarta,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Central Statistics Agency (BPS) stated that Jakarta’s economy grew by 5.59% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the first quarter of 2025, supported by the wholesale trade, retail trade, and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector.
“The wholesale and retail trade sector provided the largest contribution to DKI Jakarta’s economy, becoming the highest source of growth with a contribution of 1.06%,” said the Head of BPS DKI Jakarta, Kadarmanto, in Jakarta on Tuesday.
- Provincial Government to Manage Funds for Jakarta LPDP Programme
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will manage funds for the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) programme specific to Jakarta.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said that they will collaborate with the central LPDP to realise the programme next year.
“The existing funds are certainly those managed by the DKI Jakarta Government, but because managing LPDP takes time, it requires a long time, so we are working together with the central LPDP,” Pramono explained when met at the East Jakarta Mayor’s Office on Tuesday.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government continues to exempt battery-based electric vehicles from odd-even (gage) rules as part of support for the use of low-emission vehicles.
“We are maintaining the policy of exemption from odd-even for battery-based electric vehicles,” said the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
