Ancol Management Offers Free Evening Entry to Celebrate Jakarta’s 499th Anniversary

PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk has introduced a free entry programme for the public to enjoy recreation and public open spaces at Ancol during evenings and nights to celebrate Jakarta’s 499th anniversary.

‘This programme runs from 8 to 19 June 2026, between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM WIB, as Ancol’s support for the city’s 499th anniversary celebrations,’ said PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk’s CEO Syahmudrian Lubis in Jakarta on Saturday.

West Jakarta Fire Survivor Breaks Down Door to Save Grandchildren

A 43-year-old fire victim in West Jakarta’s Krendang Barat Street, Darto, said he rushed to save his children and grandchildren when flames suddenly engulfed a neighbouring boarding house on Thursday evening (28 May).

At the time of the incident, Darto and his wife were selling goods from a stall directly in front of the boarding house.

Rasuna Said Infrastructure Upgrades Targeted for Completion Before Jakarta Anniversary

Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor’s Special Staff for Public Communication, Chico Hakim, stated that the Rasuna Said area redevelopment in South Jakarta is targeted to be 100% complete before the Jakarta Anniversary on 22 June 2026.

‘The infrastructure improvements in the Rasuna Said area are set to be completed before the Jakarta Anniversary,’ Chico explained during a phone interview in Jakarta on Friday.

Timeline of Road Collapse in Lenteng Agung Area

The DKI Jakarta Public Works Department revealed the timeline of the road subsidence in the Lenteng Agung area towards Depok since Wednesday evening (27 May).

‘Initial reports from residents and a PPSU (Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling) officer were received by the Jagakarsa District Public Works Task Force on Wednesday (27 May) evening, indicating a road collapse on Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung in South Jakarta,’ said Siti Dinarwenny, Head of the DKI Jakarta Public Works Data and Information Centre, in Jakarta on Friday.

DKI Jakarta Government Targets Completion of 20 Flood Control Projects by 2027

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has set a target to complete 20 flood control projects across the capital by 2027.

DKI Jakarta Water Resources Agency Head Ika Agustin stated that the accelerated construction is in response to increasing extreme rainfall over recent years.
