Jakarta Waives Motor Vehicle Tax and Transfer Fee Administrative Sanctions until 31 August 2026
The Jakarta Provincial Revenue Agency (Bapenda) is providing ease for the public to settle their motor vehicle tax obligations through a tax relaxation policy. This relaxation involves the exemption of administrative sanctions for Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) and Motor Vehicle Transfer Fee (BBNKB), as stipulated in the Decision of the Head of the Jakarta Provincial Revenue Agency Number e-0018 of 2026.
The Head of the Jakarta Provincial Revenue Agency, Lusiana Herawati, stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to strive to implement policies that benefit the community and support the improvement of the quality of life for Jakarta residents. Furthermore, she explained that this policy was issued to commemorate the 499th Anniversary of Jakarta and to welcome the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
The administrative sanction waiver for PKB and BBNKB for the year 2026 is effective from 1 June 2026 until 31 August 2026. The waiver applies to administrative sanctions in the form of interest arising from late payments or deposits of outstanding taxes. “We hope the public can make the best use of this administrative sanction exemption programme while the programme is in effect,” she said.
