Jakarta Update: SJUT Development and Jakarta LRT Trial Runs
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A number of significant and interesting events occurred in Jakarta on Thursday (10/9), including Pramono’s target for the completion of the Integrated Utility Network (SJUT) within five years and the trial runs of the Jakarta LRT.
Regarding the LRT trial, the Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), Budi Awaluddin, stated that the agency will open access for members of the public who wish to participate in the trial of the Kelapa Grending-Manggarai LRT route via invitations or registration through the official Jakarta LRT website. “Yes, there will be access through invitations as well as registration via the website,” said Budi after inspecting the route at Manggarai LRT Station, Jakarta, on Thursday.
Aditia Kesuma Negara, President Director of PT LRT Jakarta, explained that traffic flow around Manggarai will return to normal after being diverted due to the construction of the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT route. “We will gradually normalise the road positions below. It will be cleared again, including the integration with the Manggarai KRL Station,” said Aditia during an inspection at Kelapa Gading Station, North Jakarta, on Thursday.
The Jakarta Provincial Government has allocated a budget of Rp90 billion for the construction of the Integrated Utility Network (SJUT) at several points across the capital. “The budget for building this SJUT is Rp90 billion, covering a length of 16.9 kilometres,” said the Head of the Public Works Agency, Heru Suwondo, after inspecting SJUT construction in the Tebet area, South Jakarta, on Thursday.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has set a target for the completion of the SJUT development within the next five years. “To be honest, I am planning that within 5 years, all cables currently on the surface can be moved underground. Whether 5 years is achievable or not depends on the fact that there are approximately 6,500 kilometres to be handled. However, if this is handled totally—meaning it does not rely solely on the Public Works Agency—I am confident it can be done,” said Pramono after inspecting cable management on Jalan Soepomo, Tebet, South Jakarta.
Meanwhile, the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Metro Jaya Regional Police conducted checks on the availability and price of face masks from producers to distributors. This was done to ensure stocks remain secure and to maintain price stability amidst increasing public demand. “This inspection is being carried out to ensure that the public’s need for masks remains met and that prices remain reasonable. If any suspected violations are found, we will take further action in accordance with applicable regulations,” said the Head of the Sub-directorate of Industry and Trade, AKBP Muhammad Ardila Amry, in Jakarta, on Thursday.
