Jakarta Transport Authority Apologises for Delayed Opening of Lenteng Agung Road Section
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Transport Department (Dishub) has issued an apology to the public as the opening of Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung southbound towards Depok could not be carried out as planned at 05:00 WIB.
“We understand that this situation has impacted the mobility of residents travelling in the Lenteng Agung area. For this reason, we apologise for the delayed road opening and urge the public to adjust their travel times and use the alternative routes that have been prepared,” said Jakarta Transport Department Head Budi Awaluddin in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Based on progress of the underground drainage repair works, the road will open in phases, with the lane on the railway side targeted to open at 08:00 WIB and the lane on the other side at 11:00 WIB.
Budi stated that the extension of work time was necessary to ensure that the repair process was completed safely and optimally before the road reopens for public use.
Additionally, according to information from the Jakarta Water Resources Department, the delay in completing the work occurred due to the area closure and sterilisation process that began at 14:00 WIB. After the location was declared safe and clean, the full repair work could be carried out starting at 16:00 WIB.
“Worker and road user safety is our top priority. Therefore, all work stages must be carried out according to procedure to ensure that the repair results are safe and can be used again by the public,” said Budi.
Budi stated that his department continues to coordinate with the Water Resources Department to accelerate the completion of the work.
Transport Department personnel also remain on standby at the location to manage traffic flow and help road users towards alternative routes.
Budi urged the public to follow the instructions of field officers and monitor the latest information through official government channels. The latest developments regarding the road opening will continue to be communicated to the public regularly.
