Jakarta Traffic Flows More Smoothly This Morning with ASN Working from Home
The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of Metro Jaya Police has recorded smoother traffic conditions on several Jakarta roads today. This situation occurs as the work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) every Friday takes effect.
“Today, there is a quite significant difference observed in the volume of vehicles used by the public taking advantage of this WFH policy, as seen from the monitoring of traffic flow. As of approximately 09:20 WIB from this morning, we have monitored a quite significant reduction in volume. Jakarta is smoother today,” said the Director of Traffic of Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Komarudin, when contacted on Friday (10/4/2026).
Komarudin stated that traffic flow on several roads that usually experience congestion in the morning is now monitored to be smoother. These roads include Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan Asia Afrika, and Jalan Gerbang Pemuda.
“On several roads like Sudirman from south to north, and north to south similarly. Then meeting several other roads like Asia Afrika, Gerbang Pemuda, which usually have quite long queues at the Ladokgi overpass until this hour,” he explained.
Komarudin mentioned that there are still some congestion points in Jakarta. Komarudin said the congestion occurs due to the meeting of vehicle flows at several points.
“Currently, what we are monitoring on several roads, including from the west, Slipi towards the east to Semanggi. This is not more caused by the crossing factor,” he said.
“We know that there is an off-ramp from the toll road that will exit to Semanggi crossing with, first, crossing with the busway lane, then also crossing with the arterial from Slipi towards Semanggi. Plus the crossings with the small road from Benhil. And also including the crossing from Semanggi to Sudirman, from Benhil towards Cawang,” he added.
