Jakarta to Implement Traffic Engineering for 499th Anniversary Peak Celebration

The Jakarta Provincial Government will implement traffic engineering on several roads during the peak celebration of the city’s 499th anniversary at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout. Governor Pramono Anung announced on Friday that the traffic management will be enforced on 27 June from 14:00 to 23:00 WIB, affecting roads including Jalan Bundaran HI to Dukuh Atas, M.H. Thamrin, Jalan Mas Mansyur, Jalan Sutan Syahrir, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan Kotabumi, Jalan Teluk Betung, and Jalan Sumenep. The arrangement is due to the peak anniversary event taking place that afternoon. On 28 June, the celebration coincides with Hari Bhayangkara, leading to further traffic management in the Sudirman-Thamrin area. Governor Pramono noted that the Car Free Day in Kuningan or Rasuna Said will be eliminated on 28 June to concentrate activities around Jalan Sudirman and Thamrin. Additionally, the Jakarta Government will provide free entry to tourist attractions such as Ragunan, Ancol, and various museums. The evening celebration on 27 June will feature performances by Padi Reborn, Mahalini, Adrian Khalif, Cici Paramida, Mollucan Soul, Sania, Skarbu, and Pasming Based, along with a light show, video mapping, flying LED displays, and an eco-friendly art installation. The following morning, the ‘Jakarta Penuh Warna’ event will offer art, cultural, sports, and entertainment attractions, including PoundFit, a giant balloon parade, a marching band, a mass Nusantara dance involving 500 performers, a Gambang Kromong and ballet collaboration, urban theatre, and a waste sorting demonstration.
