Jakarta to host heavy vehicle expo

JAKARTA: The Jakarta Fair will be the venue of an international commercial utility vehicle expo scheduled in October focusing on heavy vehicles as well as supporting industries.

"We expect some 150 companies to participate and more than 80,000 visitors to the expo," project director Ralph Scheumann of PT Jakarta International Expo said in a media statement.

"The expo will not only showcase the latest heavy vehicle models but there will be also seminars on distribution, logistics and transportation."

The local organizer will cooperate with Japanese event organizer Parabox which specializes in organizing automotive shows or events.

Apart from general automakers and spare parts suppliers, the expo also eyes specialists such as fire truck and ambulance makers. It also targets participants from banking and financial sectors as well as automotive media outlets. -- JP
