Jakarta to host badminton tourney

JAKARTA: The Jakarta chapter of the Badminton Association of
Indonesia (PBSI Jakarta) will hold the 2nd Jakarta Open badminton
tournament starting from June 20 to June 25.

Local association chairman Icuk Sugiarto said on Monday that
401 shuttlers, including entrants from Vietnam and Sweden, were
confirmed for the event from June 20-25.

"We expect more shuttlers will apply to the tournament," he
said.

He also hoped new national players admitted into the national
training center in Cipayung, East Jakarta, could also participate
in the tournament to gain valuable matchplay. -JP
