The Jakarta Provincial Government will impose sanctions on padel court operators who do not hold Building Approval Permits (PBG). Cyril Raoul Hakim, Special Staff to the Jakarta Governor for Public Communications, stated that enforcement will be carried out after court verification is completed to ensure data accuracy.

“After that, law enforcement will be conducted in stages and firmly against those who do not meet the requirements,” said Hakim, when contacted on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

He explained that sanctions against padel courts lacking PBG permits include cessation of operational activities, building demolition, and revocation of business licences. This aligns with the directive of Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung as a regulatory measure. “This is being done because buildings without PBG are administratively not recognised and do not meet basic requirements for operation,” he stated.

Hakim clarified that without PBG permits, building operators cannot obtain a Certificate of Functional Suitability. Additionally, he noted that enforcement is being undertaken as an effort to manage and control development in the capital.

“This process is currently being coordinated by the Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land Affairs Agency together with other relevant agencies and will be implemented as soon as possible according to priorities,” he said.

Previously, Vera Revina Sari, Head of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land Affairs Agency of the Jakarta Provincial Government, stated that 185 padel court buildings lack PBG permits. This data was compiled from a total of 397 padel courts spread across Jakarta as of 23 February 2026.

“212 padel buildings have obtained PBG permits and 185 padel buildings do not have PBG,” she said in a statement on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that he would summon all stakeholders regarding the controversy over padel court permits and noise disturbance in Jakarta. “Next week I will invite all stakeholders specifically related to this padel permit issue,” he said on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
