The Jakarta Provincial Government will soon begin the construction of two out of eleven planned low-cost flats (rusun), which were previously designated to be funded by the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

“The budget for the 11 flats comes from the APBD. We will begin with two flats immediately,” stated the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, when met in West Jakarta on Monday.

However, Pramono has not yet detailed the specific locations for the construction of these two flats.

According to Pramono, the construction of these flats is intended to increase the number of existing low-cost housing units in the capital.

The Jakarta Provincial Government is also collaborating with the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas (Kementerian PKP) to develop these flats.

Previously, the Head of the Jakarta Housing and Residential Areas Agency (DPRKP), Kelik Indriyanto, stated that the construction of the eleven flats is currently in the proposal stage to the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas (KemenPKP).

“We sincerely hope for full support through the three-million-house programme as a shared portfolio between the Central and Regional Governments,” said Kelik.

The locations for the eleven flats are planned for Muara Angke, Marunda Cluster C, Rorotan IX, Cakrium KM 2, Rusun Tongkol Phase III, Marunda Cluster A, Marunda Cluster B, Semper Cakung Drain, Bojong Indah, and Daan Mogot KM 18.

“The target residents for these low-cost flats are programmed communities and the general public, in accordance with Regional Regulation (Pergub) 111 of 2024,” Kelik explained.
