Jakarta Targets Completion of SDN Cipete Utara 01 Construction by September 2026
The construction of the new SDN Cipete Utara 01 building in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, is now targeted for completion by September 2026. The project, which has been underway for nearly a year, had previously missed its original deadline.
Head of the South Jakarta Region II Education Sub-Department, Sarwoko, explained that the project was initially expected to be finished within six months. However, the work remains incomplete.
‘The plan is for it to be finished by September, and the school can resume its teaching and learning activities,’ Sarwoko said in a statement on Thursday.
Sarwoko noted that the delay was due to a mid-project change in plans. The construction was initially focused solely on the new building for SDN Cipete Utara 01. However, a proposal emerged to develop the project into a mixed-use building of up to 20 storeys.
‘Initially, it was just a renovation or construction of a new school for SDN Cipete Utara 01. Then, during the process, there was a desire to build a mixed-use building up to 20 floors,’ he said.
The plan changed again after a contractor change, and the project was refocused solely on the school building. ‘The plan now is for it to be completed in September, and the school can resume its teaching and learning activities,’ Sarwoko said.
He confirmed that the mixed-use development plan has been scrapped. During the construction period, students from SDN Cipete Utara 01 have been temporarily relocated to SDN Cipete Utara 09, which is approximately 1.6 kilometres away.
