Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road Suffers Severe Deterioration; Jasa Marga Undertakes Repairs
TANGERANG — The Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road at kilometre 13 in Karang Tengah, Tangerang has been reported to have suffered severe pothole damage.
The information was shared through the Instagram account @tangkot24jam, which displayed images of the damaged toll road. According to the post, road deterioration has occurred at several points along the Jakarta-Tangerang toll route.
“The Jakarta-Tangerang toll road has been reported to have suffered damage at multiple locations with numerous potholes in the road surface,” the account stated.
“Drivers are urged to exercise greater caution and pay attention to road conditions when passing through in order to avoid the risk of accidents and vehicle damage,” the post cautioned.
Meanwhile, Panji, the Head of Marketing Communication at Jasa Marga Metropolitan, stated that the company is aware of the deterioration and is currently conducting repairs in phases.
“Jasa Marga is conducting repairs in phases,” Panji said when confirmed by Kompas.com on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
Drivers are urged to remain cautious when passing through the toll route and to pay attention to road conditions to avoid the risk of accidents and vehicle damage. The deterioration has impacted road surface quality and hindered the repair process.
“The repairs also cannot yet be conducted to maximum effectiveness,” he said.
As a result, Jasa Marga issued an apology to road users over the road damage on the Tangerang-Jakarta toll route.
“I wish to state that Jasa Marga apologises to road users regarding the road surface condition which is not yet optimal and will continue to undertake repairs in phases,” he said.
