Jakarta–Tangerang Toll Road briefly inundated as heavy rainfall causes flooding
The Jakarta–Tangerang Toll Road experienced temporary flooding at several points due to heavy rainfall over the past two days, with Sunday morning seeing waterlogged sections in Tangerang Regency (ANTARA). Senior Manager Representative Office 2 Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT), Ginanjar Bekti, said the high rainfall over the last two days caused waterlogging in residential areas and on the toll road, affecting traffic flow on the Jakarta–Tangerang Toll Road, particularly at KM 24 towards Bitung. As rainfall subsided, floodwater in the area receded and traffic began to return to normal by Sunday afternoon. Bekti explained that most flooded points had receded and the road could operate normally again, with only two points remaining: KM 10 to KM 10+800 on the Jakarta–Tangerang Toll Road toward Tangerang and the Karang Tengah Barat (KTB) exit, which has been closed temporarily since 07:45 WIB this morning. He noted the floodwater on the Jakarta–Tangerang Toll Road was observed covering the outer shoulder of the road. Staff were directing traffic and issuing field advisories to mitigate disruption to vehicles caused by the floodwater. The company, along with related stakeholders, continues to accelerate flood management and coordinate with relevant parties to take necessary measures. About five water pumps have been deployed at two flood locations to speed up flood response. To reduce congestion, police and Jasa Marga officers direct traffic to prevent further worsening. Jasa Marga personnel remain on site to manage traffic as required.
