Jakarta Suspends Odd-Even Traffic Rule for Eid al-Adha Holiday on 27-28 May 2026
The Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub DKI Jakarta) announced the suspension of the odd-even traffic restriction system on Wednesday, 27 May and Thursday, 28 May 2026, in conjunction with the Eid al-Adha national holiday and the accompanying leave day.
In an official Instagram post, Dishub DKI stated that four-wheeled or larger vehicles would be exempt from number plate-based restrictions on 26 key road sections during the period. The move follows the Joint Decree of Three Ministers regarding 2026 national holidays and leave days, as well as Jakarta Provincial Regulation No. 88 of 2019, Article 3(3), which exempts odd-even rules on weekends and public holidays.
Despite the temporary suspension, the agency advised road users to prioritise safety and adhere to traffic signs and on-site officers’ instructions. “The public is urged to maintain safe driving practices and comply with field officers’ directions,” the statement added.
