Jakarta Surrounded by World-Class 'Treasure Trove' Buildings, Here Are Their Locations
Data centres are akin to ‘treasure troves’ in the digital era, essential for storing data and running various applications. Typically located in areas with vast land, ample water, and electricity supplies, some are also situated in densely populated regions like DKI Jakarta. Digital Realty Bersama owns two data centres in the capital: CGK 10 and CGK 11 in West Jakarta, and CGK 11 in East Jakarta. These are specifically designed for urban locations. “DRB itself is actually a premium midtown data centre because our data centres are only located within the city. The aim is to be closer to customers or end-users and to deliver data more quickly,” said Director of Business and Commercial at Digital Realty Bersama, Andha Yudha Permana, when met at the data centre site in the Cawang area, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/4/2026). Currently, CGK 10 has a capacity of 1.4 MW and is 95% occupied. Meanwhile, CGK 11 is about 60% filled from its 5 MW capacity. Digital Realty Bersama also plans to expand data centres in these two areas. One in East Jakarta will add another with a capacity of up to 27 MW, scheduled to begin construction this year. In West Jakarta, there will be three data centres, providing a total of approximately 62 MW. “From the IT load side, with rack capacity of over 9,000 and total area of more than 20,000 square metres,” Yudha explained. These data centres offer various services, including colocation for customer facilities to operate devices within the data centre. Additionally, interconnectivity allows connectivity facilities in one place. He promises that the data centres will be highly interconnected, scalable, and globally accredited. “Finally, our location is purpose-built, meaning our data centres are built from scratch and specifically for data centres, not renovated buildings or places not intended for data centres. This is from zero, built from the start to be a capable data centre,” he stated.
