Jakarta-Sukabumi Mudik via Bocimi Toll Road Now Open to This Point
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) Toll Road Section 3, Cibadak (Parungkuda) to West Sukabumi segment, will be opened functionally during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri exodus and return journey in 2026.
The Road Toll Regulatory Body (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) stated that the functional opening of Bocimi Section 3 is intended to support smooth traffic flow during the exodus and return journey, particularly on the Bogor-Sukabumi route.
“To support public mobility during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri / Eid 2026 period, BPJT together with the toll road operator (BUJT) is preparing functional route operations on the Ciawi-Sukabumi Toll Road (part of section 3),” said BPJT in its official Instagram @pupr_bpjt, cited on Sunday (15 March 2026).
For Bocimi Section 3, the functional opening will be partially opened, specifically from the Parungkuda interchange (IC) to Karangtengah access. The functional length reaches approximately 5 km. This functional opening is exclusively for Class I non-bus vehicles such as sedans, minibuses, and jeeps in a single lane and one direction in accordance with police discretion.
“This 5 km segment is planned to operate functionally in a single lane one direction (situational) according to police discretion and is exclusively for Class I vehicles (non-bus) to support smooth exodus and return traffic,” BPJT continued.
The functional scheme involves vehicles from Ciawi, Caringin, or Cigombong entering through a temporary barrier gate at STA 26+200 (KM 73+150) Lane A as a tapping point for toll road users who have already passed Section 2 (Cigombong-Cibadak).
Subsequently, exit access is at STA 31+250 (KM 78+200) Lane A via the Karangtengah overpass with a 6 m wide road leading to Karangtengah National Road Junction 3, with total access distance of 1.3 km.
Additionally, an alternative exit access is available at STA 27+600 (KM 74+550) Lane A via Jalan Dermaga (3.5 m wide) for 5 km until meeting Karangtengah County Road at Market Junction 3 Nagrak (6 m wide), then continuing for 3.5 km towards Karangtengah National Road Junction 3. The total access length reaches 8.5 km.
As a form of support for smooth operational efficiency, Bocimi toll operator PT Trans Jabar Tol ensures various systems and devices to enable functional operations to run well.
“We ensure the readiness of transaction devices, integration of operational systems at temporary barrier gates, including personnel support to anticipate technical disruptions during the functional operational period, preparing operational vehicles and personnel to support operations and emergency response, ensuring the availability and functionality of traffic signs and safety barriers as well as other safety equipment in accordance with applicable regulations,” explained BPJT.
Road users intending to use the Bocimi Section 3 functional toll road are urged to always exercise caution, comply with traffic regulations, and follow instructions from field personnel.
“Users are urged to always be cautious, comply with applicable traffic regulations, follow instructions from field personnel, prepare their E-Toll card, and monitor official information to ensure safe and smooth travel when using the functional toll road,” it said.
