Jakarta, VIVA – The IHSG opened higher, gaining 37 points or 0.45 per cent to reach 8,318 at the start of trading on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

According to an analysis by Phintraco Sekuritas, from a technical perspective, the upward momentum of the IHSG’s MACD histogram is starting to weaken, and a Death Cross Stochastic RSI is forming in the overbought area.

“Therefore, it is predicted that the IHSG’s correction may continue and test the support level at 8,200-8,250,” as quoted from Phintraco Sekuritas’ research, Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

Phintraco’s analysts said that sentiment is still influenced by uncertainty regarding US tariff policies and the prospect of relatively tight US interest rates.

From China, the central bank maintained its lending rate for the ninth consecutive month in February 2026, with the 1-year Loan Prime Rate at 3 per cent and the 5-year Loan Prime Rate at 3.5 per cent.

On Wednesday, 25 February 2026, US President Donald Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech before the US Congress regarding the official annual report, which includes information about the state of the nation and the government’s future policy plans.

Meanwhile, in Europe, investors will today be monitoring Germany’s GfK Consumer Confidence for March 2026, which is expected to be at -23.8, up from -24.1.

The Euro Area’s inflation for January 2026 is expected to slow to 1.7 per cent year-on-year (yoy) from 2 per cent (yoy).

“The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) is predicted to weaken to the 8,200-8,250 level,” he said.
