Jakarta: SPBU Attacker Tests Positive for Meth and Marijuana
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The suspect in the assault of several employees at SPBU (Public Fuel Filling Station) 3413901 in Cipinang, Pulogadung, has tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana.
“After a urine test, the suspect, JMH alias A (31), tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana. In further questioning, the suspect also admitted to having consumed ecstasy,” said East Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Pol Alfian Nurrizal during a press conference at the East Jakarta Police Headquarters on Wednesday.
Previously, three SPBU employees were allegedly victims of an assault by a man on Sunday (February 22) at around 10:10 PM.
Alfian explained that after his team apprehended and questioned the suspect, inconsistencies were found in his statements. According to him, the suspect’s answers were inconsistent and initially, he claimed to have only been under the influence of alcohol.
“During the interrogation, what we asked and what he said did not match and was not clear, or I would say it was inconsistent. This made me suspect that there was some influence,” Alfian explained.
Police suspect that the combination of alcohol and narcotics affected the suspect’s condition, leading to his aggressive behaviour. However, Alfian emphasized that the influence of illicit substances does not negate the criminal element in this case.
“Of course, we emphasize that every form of violence, especially against officers who are carrying out their duties according to procedure, cannot be justified and will be dealt with firmly according to applicable law,” Alfian said.
Police have also secured evidence in the form of a black Toyota Vellfire car and CCTV footage stored on a data storage device (hard drive). For his actions, JMH is charged under Article 466 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 471 of the Criminal Code regarding assault, with a maximum prison sentence of two years and six months.
“We will process this case firmly as a form of protection for public service officers who carry out their duties according to procedure,” Alfian said.
The incident began when one of the SPBU 3413901 operators, Lukman Hakim (19), was on duty on Sunday (February 22) during the night shift at around 10:00 PM. However, the situation suddenly escalated when the barcode shown did not match the type of vehicle used. Lukman stated that the vehicle’s license plate was the same, but the data and type of vehicle in the barcode were different. Allegedly, the man became angry after being reprimanded and started shouting in the filling area. He even challenged the officers. The commotion continued when Lukman called staff to confirm the filling policy. The suspect became even more emotional and pushed one of the staff, Ahmad Khoirul Anam, causing his head to hit the suspect’s car. The commotion reportedly lasted for quite some time, estimated to be almost an hour, from around 10:00 PM to almost 11:30 PM. There were three victims in the incident, namely one staff member and two operators. They are Ahmad Khoirul Anam, who has worked for about five years as staff, Lukmanul Hakim, an operator who has only worked for six months after graduating from vocational high school, and Abud Mahmudin, an operator with about four years of service. Khoirul Anam was slapped on the cheek, Lukman was hit on the right jaw. Meanwhile, Abud was hit under the eye and on the cheek near the mouth, causing him to lose a tooth.
