Jakarta Senior High School Admission Registration Opens 15 June
Registration for the New Student Admission Selection (SPMB) for state senior high schools (SMA) in Jakarta will open on Monday, 15 June 2026. The first selection pathway to open is the affirmation route. The organising committee stated that the entire SPMB SMA Jakarta registration process is conducted online. Prospective students and parents can also monitor the selection results online.
Before registering and choosing a target SMA, prospective new students must meet certain requirements. According to the SPMB Jakarta website, general requirements include being domiciled in Jakarta and being listed in the family card (kartu keluarga) by 15 June 2025 at the latest. Applicants must not be currently registered as active students at any SMA, either public or private, and must not be older than 21 years by 1 July 2026. Prospective students are also required to prepare several documents, including the family card, academic report cards from grades 7 to 9 (semester one), a school report poster, and a letter of absolute responsibility for document validity.
The 2026 Jakarta SPMB offers four admission pathways: affirmation, achievement, domicile, and transfer. The affirmation pathway is divided into three priority groups: children from orphanages and children of healthcare workers who died handling Covid-19; persons with disabilities; and holders of Jakarta children’s cards such as KJP Plus, Mitra Trans Jakarta, KJP, and PIP. The implementation schedules for these affirmation groups differ. The first priority affirmation pathway, for children from orphanages and children of healthcare workers who died handling Covid-19, is open from 15 June to 8 July 2026. The second priority affirmation pathway for child card holders opens from 22 to 24 June 2026. Another first priority affirmation pathway, specifically for persons with disabilities, opens on 15 June and 17-18 June 2026.
The achievement pathway is divided into academic and non-academic categories, with registration for both taking place simultaneously from 15 to 18 June 2026. The domicile pathway for students wishing to continue to public SMA in Jakarta opens from 29 June to 1 July 2026. The transfer pathway opens from 15 to 30 June 2026, with document verification conducted after registration.
Based on the Governor of Jakarta Decree No. 238 of 2026 concerning Technical Guidelines for New Student Admission, the admission process includes several stages. First, applicants must complete online submission and verification of their family card on the provided platform. Prospective students must print the account submission receipt containing the participant number and activation token. Second, they must activate the received token and then select target schools. Third, prospective new students register at their chosen schools according to the selected pathway via the SPMB Jakarta website. Applicants may select a maximum of three target schools. Afterwards, they must print the school selection receipt. The verification team will then process the applicants’ documents. All selection results are announced online. If accepted, prospective students can re-register online by entering their participant number and password, and then complete in-person re-registration at the target school.
