Jakarta Satpol PP Deploys 500 Personnel to Secure Demonstration

The Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) deployed 500 personnel to support security operations for a public demonstration in several areas of Jakarta on Friday. “We have deployed 500 Satpol PP personnel to help maintain a safe and orderly situation,” said Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Satriadi Gunawan, in Jakarta on Friday. Satriadi stated that Jakarta Satpol PP continues to coordinate with the Police, the Jakarta Transportation Agency, and other relevant agencies to ensure public activities proceed smoothly. The public is urged to comply with directions from officers on the ground, exercise caution while driving, and adjust travel routes to avoid traffic congestion around the protest locations. Meanwhile, student groups held a demonstration in the Central Jakarta area today. The Metro Jaya Regional Police deployed 4,151 joint personnel to escort and secure the protest. The joint force consists of 3,651 police personnel supported by 500 military personnel. In addition to deploying personnel, the police have also mapped out anticipatory measures to address any dynamic developments on the ground. Regarding traffic flow around Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan and the Monas area, the police have prepared situational traffic diversions.
