Ragunan Zoo is offering free admission and prize quizzes to visitors in celebration of Jakarta’s 499th anniversary, reflecting the spirit of Jakarta’s transformation into a modern, inclusive, and sustainable global city. “Taman Margasatwa Ragunan is supporting the series of celebrations organised by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government,” said Ragunan Zoo Head of Public Relations Wahyudi Bambang in Jakarta on Monday.
Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung Wibowo attended the World Cities Summit (WCS) 2026 series in Singapore from 14 to 16 June 2026. At the event, Pramono carried out two mandates simultaneously, representing Jakarta as the capital city and performing his role as Vice Chair of C40 Cities for the East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania region.
A night culinary festival will be held in the Glodok Chinatown area, Tamansari, on Saturday (20/6) to enliven the 499th anniversary of Jakarta City. Tamansari Sub-district Head Simson Hutagalung stated that the festival will involve at least 60 micro, small, and medium enterprises, with the majority of participants being local traders from the surrounding Glodok Chinatown area.
The Deputy Speaker of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives, Basri Baco, reminded the executive branch to prepare for the possibility that the central government will again cut Jakarta’s Revenue Sharing Funds. “It is possible our DBH will decrease again. The central government is currently keen on social programmes that please the public and require large funds,” Baco stated at the DPRD DKI Jakarta Building on Monday. He expressed hope that the Regional-Owned Enterprises can contribute to the DKI Jakarta Regional Budget.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office announced that the New Student Admission System for the 2026/2027 Academic Year will accommodate 245,980 new students across state education units, joint SPMB, and free private schools. Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Nahdiana, said the 2026/2027 SPMB is designed to ensure every child in Jakarta has equal opportunity to access quality education. “We are implementing the 2026/2027 Academic Year SPMB to ensure new student admissions are more objective, transparent, and inclusive,” she said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.
