Jakarta round-up: Market operations for rice and oil, parking solutions in Senopati
Perumda Pasar Jaya is expanding the distribution of rice and MinyaKita cooking oil through market operations, or the Food Supply and Price Stabilisation (SPHP) programme, in collaboration with Perum Bulog. The initiative aims to maintain price stability at the community level through markets managed by the company. “We continue to cooperate with Perum Bulog, covering the provision of SPHP rice as well as the distribution of MinyaKita to the public through markets managed by Pasar Jaya,” said Perumda Pasar Jaya President Director Agus Himawan in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The South Jakarta Administrative City Government and the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency are providing parking pockets in the Senopati, Mulawarman, and Suryo road areas in Kebayoran Baru District to prevent illegal parking. “We will move together in the field to find the best solution regarding parking issues in the Senopati area and its surroundings so that they no longer disrupt community activities,” said South Jakarta Deputy Mayor Ali Murthadho in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The West Jakarta City Government tidied up 1.5 kilometres of messy overhead cables on Jalan Kusuma Raya, Grogol Petamburan, on Wednesday. A total of 18 task force personnel, five vendor personnel, and six utility operators were deployed in the cable arrangement process.
A joint team of officers again carried out a valve core removal operation (OCP) for vehicles parked illegally in the Sentra Primer Barat (SPB) Kembangan area and Jalan Kembangan Raya, South Kembangan, West Jakarta, on Wednesday. During the operation conducted by 45 joint officers, 10 two-wheeled vehicles were penalised.
The DKI Jakarta Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the number of public transport passengers in the capital, namely MRT Jakarta, LRT Jakarta, and Transjakarta, increased on an annual basis in May 2026. The number of MRT Jakarta passengers reached 3,857,969 people, LRT Jakarta passengers totalled 119,185 people, and Transjakarta passengers, including Mikrotrans, reached 35,585,808 people.
