Jakarta Returns to Bustle, Traffic Jams Mar Activities After Eid Holiday

Vehicles were trapped in traffic jams in the Gatot Subroto area, Jakarta, on Monday (30/3/2026). Heavy traffic density occurred at several points on roads such as arterial streets and the inner-city toll road in Gatot Subroto on the first working day after the collective leave and Eid al-Fitr holiday. Traffic engineering in the form of contraflow was applied on the inner-city toll road towards West Jakarta to alleviate the congestion. PT Jasa Marga recorded that 2.9 million vehicles had entered Jakarta up to Sunday (29/3) night, or around 86 percent of the total Eid return traffic this year.
